Bangkok is a true feast for the senses, with plenty to see and do, whether you’re visiting the city itself, or using it as a base to further explore Thailand and South-East Asia.
The iconic capital of Thailand, Bangkok is particularly well known for its infamous nightlife, such as the bars of Soi Cowboy, and trendier cocktail bars.
You could even visit Sky Bar, a stunning rooftop bar which you might recognize from The Hangover Part II.
However, there’s also a much calmer and more spiritual side of Bangkok, with lots of temples to visit, such as Wat Arun and Wat Pho, which can be reached by the Chao Phraya river boat, or on a tuk-tuk for something a bit different!
If you do visit any of the temples, do bear in mind that they’re places of worship and that you need to be respectful.
This means that both men and women need to keep their shoulders and legs above the knee covered, and you’ll also need to take your shoes off.
You may not have known that Bangkok is also home to some great shopping, whether it be the small markets such as the Chatuchak Weekend Market, or the large MBK shopping mall.
